Adenium multiflorum
- Cultivated variates can have pachycaul stems and a stout, and a swollen basal caudex, while mature wild plants do not have a distinct caudex.
- Area of distribution stretches from southeastern Zambia, across Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, to Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the northern areas of KwaZulu-Natal, and also in Swaziland.
- Does not flower until 4 to 5 years old usually, unlike Adenium obesum which can flower in 8 to 12 months.
- They have large tuberous roots which store water.
- Wild Adenium multiflorum will loose all its leaves when flowering.
- Is susceptible to root rot, if water logged for too long.
- They have an obligatory dormancy during winter.
- They shed their leaves in the fall.
- pot needs to be able to drain well to prevent root rot for chronic water logged soil.
