Buzz and Tell is a UK television series for pre-school children, taking the format of a panel game show.[1] It is the first production from Impossible Kids[2] and shown on the CBeebies channel, BBC2 and the BBC HD channel. The programme was first broadcast on BBC2 on 9 August 2010, airing at 7:20am in Scotland and 7:35am in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Format
[edit]All characters in the show are puppets. Each self-contained show is hosted by a walrus called Walter Flipstick and features five contestants. The quiz proceeds at a fast pace. Around five quiz questions are asked, and the contestants are expected to press their buzzers to answer, like in many other game shows. Most questions are answered incorrectly several times, often with amusing answers, before being answered correctly. At the end of the questions, one contestant is declared the winner and receives a prize of little monetary value which they generally show delight at winning.
Contestants
[edit]Contestants on each programme are drawn from the following list:
- Orange Bernard, an opinionated orangutan with a banana interest
- Miss Honkover, an exotic showbiz bird
- Melanie Wiggles, a rabbit studying carrots
- Charles Cheese, a mouse with a cheese fascination
- Mr Biscuits, an unknown species with a degree in biscuits
- Ken Koala, who is very shy
- Karl, a chinchilla with a vast knowledge of nuts
- Henrietta Peck, an enthusiastic but dim hen
