 Count Josephine Band is a New Jersey based Rock, Metal,funk, Blues, Punk influenced Band

Also big fans of the New Jersey Rock sound. The Band was formed in 2002 By John Carr who plays the guitar, Steve Kelly on drums,and Bob Way on bass.

 The band was the product of musicians that were in other bands from Burlington County NJ.

Count Josephine is from Browns Mills NJ. The name Count Josephine came from a mental patient in a NJ state complex. As a state worker at the complex, John Carr used to hear the individual walk around all day saying that he wanted be "black like Count Josephine" a combination of a co worker named Josephine and Count Dracula, so they had to have that name for their new band.

 The war between cover bands and original bands still goes on. 

Count Josephine had a few original songs to play, but they were not sure if the local bars would let them play there. So they were kinda forced to go into the city and the shore to gig. Count Josephine's first Show case was at CBGS, and they were pumped, after that they played the Pontiac Grill in Philadelphia, Grape St Pub, the Sawmill, and then the the big one for Jersey bands THE STONE PONY. Other bands sometimes told Count Josephine that them doing originals was not going to work and that they should stick to doing covers, they refused to stop writing their own music and continued on playing originals and covers all over the place.

 Today the players are John Carr Vocals guitar, Brian Carlile on drums, Glenn Marsh on guitar, and John Benussi on bass. Count Josephine has opened up for bands like Kings X, Mountain, Skid Row, and Bullet Boys. In 2020 the Count Josephine band released "Christmas Comes Once A Year" Filmed at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ.
