Bio
[edit]About Me
[edit]I am a Dancer, Musician, and a die hard Disney fan. I have been dancing for 13 years, and have been competing for 4 years. My favorite styles of dance include Musical Theater and Tap but, I also compete and perform Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Ballet. I am fascinated with tap dancing because it comes from several ethnic dances from places like West Africa, Scotland, Ireland, and England, and they were fused together.[1] I play the piano, but I also enjoy singing. I am a huge Disney fan and collector. My favorite movies include Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Lilo and Stitch, and Beauty and the Beast. I collect mickey ears, mini backpacks, snow-globes, figurines, and pins.
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]I am interested in Zoology, Veterinary Science, as well as the Human Body. I have always been interested on how systems work. I would love to learn more about it and go into the medical field. I am particularly interested about large exotic animals like elephants, giraffes, and zebras. I would like to add new things maybe people have never heard of before to Wikipedia in the future to go along with my career.
Article Evaluation
[edit]While going through the Batman page, I visited the Grappling Hook article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: citations lead to untrustworthy websites and some even lead no where, citations are old and new information can be found, and there is little to no mention on when, how, or why the grappling hook was first created.
Citations
[edit]There are a fair amount of citations given on this page but, they aren't great ones. Some paragraphs don't even include citations. While clicking through some of the citations I noticed some of them didn't have a link anymore or they took me to websites that didn't exist anymore. One citation took me to a blog, while looking through I was able to find the author but I couldn't find him anywhere else online. There were also no citations to the research that was given on that website. Another citation took me to a pirate website, I was unable to find anything about author and information about the website was kept to a minimum.
Age
[edit]Some Citations that are given are very old, dating back to 2000. There has definitely been more article's and information found since then. New and more information could definitely be found on the subject. Even though the citations were found primarily in 2019 the articles themselves are old.
Missing or Little Information
[edit]There is little to no mention on when, how, or why the grappling hook was created. Looking through other websites, such as Britannica, I was able to find so much more about the grappling hook. Information can be added to the grappling hook page like who created the hook, what is was made out off, what was the use for it when it was created, how the shape of the hook changed over time.
Conclusion
[edit]Overall I think this page could use some work. Citations need to be checked for notability and removed if they no-longer have a link or the link doesn't have a website attached anymore. Information need to be up to date and new articles need to be found. Also, I think that the page would benefit with more information added to the page.
