matthew hopkins was a witch finder. he was one of the main reasons people feared witches because he was a witch finder (a greedy one) people were scared that they would be hunted just for being old or having a familiar (a animal a witch typically has.) now you may be wondering what i meant by "greedy" well people would get money for finding a witch (which mathew hopkins done a lot)
