You could say that I am retired. I don't think I agree anymore with the purpose, the mission of Wikipedia, and with the way things are managed. That may surprise you, but I don't believe anymore that Wikipedia should be a thing.

I will edit when I see fit to remove or correct false information but I won't add anymore.

You are allowed to take everything that I have not yet published (meaning my three sandboxes [1] [2] [3]). Use the resources I left on this page.

Hi ! I am CocoricoPolynesien and welcome to my user page !

My area of expertise focuses on documentary research on the military and political past of the French Republic. I generally find my happiness in old texts forgotten by all and try to pass it on.

If you wish to contact me, head to my talk page; if you wish to explore my contributions on all the projects associated with wikipedia, use the navigation bar just above. Finally, you will find below articles I worked on.

Have a nice day ! :)

Guide

[edit]

A short guide on where to find official and reliable information (in French) on topics related to French politics, military, debates...

Since 1789, the French administration keeps records of everything related to the government and its actions. These were and still are compiled in gazettes and collections available on mainly two websites, Legifrance and Gallica.

The first one is a governmental repository of all current laws and the publication place of the Journal Officiel de la République Française ; long story short : anything has to be published in it to be legally binding, otherwise it is considered null and void. However, it was only created in 1869.

The second website is the one of the National Library of France (BNF). It contains, among million of things, the Bulletin des lois de la République Française, Bulletin of Laws of the French Republic. It was published between 1789 and 1931 before being fully replaced by the Official Journal.

My personal advice to maximize your chances of finding something you are looking for is to use the Bulletin of Laws for 1789 - 1871 and the Official Journal for 1871 - Present. Reasons are that with the Official Journal creation in 1869, the Bulletin of Laws was gradually replaced and lacked some texts. But same goes for the Official Journal, not fully complete until at least 1871.
