Coco Naik
[edit]Throughout his life, he learned a lot, and these lessons have shaped him into the person he is now. The only genuine failure is the failure to learn from one's mistakes, which is a product of one's own actions. He adjusted his point of view in order to benefit those around him, including himself. He took a different road in life than most, and many of the lessons he learned along the way were difficult and painful, but they helped shape him into the person he is today.
Personal Information
[edit]On May 16th, 1975, Mohamad Ali P. Naik or better known as “Coco Naik" was welcomed into the world as a young boy. He was one of nine children in a large family in Saguiran, which is located in Lanao del Sur. As the eldest child, he has had plenty of time to hone his skills as an attentive listener and an articulate communicator over the course of his years spent working for the government, as well as his experiences in modeling and show business. Because his father and mother came from different cultural backgrounds, he has a more nuanced understanding of both Christianity and Islam, as well as a higher capability to adjust to new situations. This has helped Coco Naik develop an appreciation for the challenges both Muslims and Christians confront. In addition to being able to handle a number of different activities at once, he also possesses the capacity to motivate others and to resolve conflicts amicably. His spouse is Astravel Pimentel Naik and they gave birth to 4 children.
Educational Attainment
[edit]Coco Naik graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology at Lacson College, in Taft Avenue Manila. He then proceed to graduate schools of Masters in Criminology at PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College.
Professional Experiences
[edit]Coco Naik had a good foundation, in his teenage days, he ran and was elected as a Sangguniang Kabataan Kagawad in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur and helped the young in their town. This enabled him to obtain experience as a public servant and perform community projects meant to protect the young from being exposed to illicit activities and raise knowledge on sports and community service. During Naik’s stay in the Senate, Aquilino "Nene" Pimentel, Jr. and Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, both of whom had previously served as President of the Senate, provided him with the opportunity to get a comprehensive grasp of effective government and public service. His one-on-one training with them not only honed his innate leadership skills but also instilled in him a profound reverence for human life as well as the principles of integrity, honesty, and fairness. Having spent his formative years in Lanao del Sur, where he was constantly exposed to the anguish of members of his own family, as well as those of his friends and neighbors, he has always harbored the hope that one day he will be able to facilitate the coming together of Muslims and Christians for the sake of the country's progress and peace. He is confident that Mindanao can be improved with the help of compassionate and responsible leadership. He spent six years working in the offices of Senators Pimentel and in the social development department of the city of Makati City. During that time, he learned the value of dealing directly with the people who were being served by those offices. As a result of the success he had in this position, Senators Nene Pimentel and Koko Pimentel both gave him promotions to the posts of special assistant. Senator Aquilino Q. Pimentel Jr, the late Senate President who trained him to vigorously advocate Federalism and communicate with Filipinos around the world, has supplied him with instruction since 2016. He accompanied the late Senate President on his international trips as well, for consultation. This piqued his curiosity about how he might be able to help those not only in the Philippines but also outside. As a result of this, he hasn't stopped traveling since then, stopping in countries all over the world to meet with various Filipino groups and political figures. Travels have led him to places such as the United States of America; Japan; France; Australia; Italy; Canada; Norway; Denmark; Greece; Qatar; Hong Kong; and Thailand. As a result of his travels, he developed a better appreciation for the unique challenges that Filipinos abroad endure. When he joined the Advocates & Keepers Organization of Overseas Filipino Workers, Inc. (AKO OFW) in 2019, he was elected to the role of Vice Chairman for Political Affairs, a position he has held ever since. That organization's membership and its causes were spread more widely because of his efforts. He has helped a large number of Filipino workers who have been victimized while working abroad. Because of his government connections and his experience as a government employee of 17 years, he has been able to assist our kababayans in finding the appropriate agency whenever they want assistance. To boost his advocacy work, in February 2021, he became a co-host on DWDD 1134 KHz, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) radio station, for the UP UP Pilipinas (Usapang Pangkapayapaan, Usapang Pangkaunlaran) – Usapang OFW Segment. Second in the AKO OFW Partylist nominations for the 2022 National and Local Elections was him as well.
