From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are many negative impacts humans have on marine life, such as, over fishing, destructive fishing, and especially plastic pollution. In this article it describes how bad the plastic pollution is, "The so-called Pacific Trash Vortex may contain up to 1.9 million pieces of trash per square mile, and a similar patch of garbage exists in the northern Atlantic." ([1]). Even though there are many negatives there are some positive impacts that humans have on marine life. Some of these positive affects are that there are marine protected areas and there is a ban on micro bead usage in beauty products to help alleviate the amount of plastic pollution in the ocean.
