Many employers require a prospective employee to submit to finger printing prior to employment.

  • What are the rules/laws relating to the use of these fingerprints?
  • What are the rules/laws relating to fees associated with this and what are the rules allowing or limiting the fees which may be charged to the applicant?
  • What are the rules relating to a finger print check that returns a negative result--that return a result indicating the individual's fingerprints are contained in a database?
    • Is there a right to examine and dispute these results?
  • What is the purpose of this fingerprinting?
    • Is it to verify the identity of the candidate?
    • Is it to confirm the claims of the applicant in the application?
  • Does the prospective employer have a requirement to disclose the databases that will be searched?
