BancJet Systems SA de CV (also known as Bancjet Sistemas y Bancjet Air Cargo) was a cargo airline based in Toluca,Mexico. Itt operated cargo services on behalf of Airborne Express,BAX Global,Kitty Hawk Air Cargo,UPS,FedEx and DHL.
History
[edit]The airline was established in 1980 December. In 2004 the airline entered in bankruptcy protection because until that moment the airline had several debts.In 2006 may, tha airline emerged of the bankruptcy protection. In 2006 september was received the notice that the parent company, BancJets Investment SA de CV, entered in protection status by the same reason and in november DGAC ordered the cancellation of the BancJet Air for operate airfreight services. That order took effect in 2007 february. The airline gave the first steps for reduce its overheads and re-start operations. For that time BancJets Investments was dissolved by their president Próculo Pinedo, which also was dissolved of their charge. Today, the airline did a 3rd attempt to re-start operations and reduced into a 30 percent the consumption of fuel, plus several modifications in the systems of the fleet.
Accidents
[edit]- On 3 september of 1986 a Falcon 20D of BancJet was flying between Burbank and Mexico City and took off from the first city with other Falcon 20 of the same airline. The first aircraft transported 90lT of kerosene and the other aircraft transported 60 packs of aerosol.The first aircraft was reduce the speed when was flying in Guadalajara and lost the control and crashed with the other aircraft. Both aircraft were left trapped in the wings and both set-aflame. Latest the 2 aircraft descended and crashed. Fortunately,the 6 crews jumped of the aircraft and no resulted injured.
