User:Cliotropic/Law and Policy in US Women's History
Scope of this subproject
[edit]Note: this is a draft at the moment while I assess how much interest there is in this subproject & how much time I have to give to it. If you'd like to take the lead on this subproject, go right ahead & contact me at my talk page.
This subproject, part of WikiProject Women's History, aims to improve the availability and quality of articles on Wikipedia about the history of United States law and policy related to women and their lives. The following are explicitly included as within scope:
- the history of state and federal case law and statutory law about women, marriage, divorce, and family
- effects of major changes in state and federal case law on historical women's lives
- the history of women's changing legal rights and responsibilities
- biographies and topical articles about women's work in government, civil service, and law
- women's political organizing on any issue, from any part of the political spectrum
The geographic and chronological scope of this project includes all areas now part of the US from European settlement until the recent historical past. To the extent that the US falls into the English common-law tradition, this project may also touch entries on UK and Commonwealth legal history.
Overall goals/tasks to be done

Organizations
[edit]Goal:
- For each existing article, bring its quality up to at least "start" level (i.e. not a stub)
- For organizations which do not yet have articles, create one (non-stub)
- If organization is an offshoot of a non-women's one, ensure that the article for the non-women's one contains links to the women's one.
