[edit]Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia (or people editing on their behalf)
[edit]Wikipedia is paranoid about preventing copyright violations. If you wish to submit previously published work to Wikipedia, chances are that it will be marked as a potential infringement of copyright, and then zapped. Stating on the article's talk page that you are the copyright holder of the work (or acting as his or her agent), while not likely to prevent deletion, helps. To completely resolve copyright concerns, it is sufficient to either:
- Make a copyright statement permitting reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts) on the original web site; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation, ideally using the email template above or one at WP:CONSENT.
- CC-BY-SA Snippet
