Broken Network Address Translation (BNAT) is a concept that describes a phenomenon seen when NAT operations (as defined in RFC1631) operate in an asymmetric manner.
The basic premise behind BNAT is that it's asymmetry prevents traditional communications for working properly requiring additional fix-up operations (to be performed by the initiating client) before successful communication.
