Droogie is an American industrial rock act, formed in 2008 by internet personality Eric Gallagher, better known as Xygni. Xygni is the only member of Droogie, and is the band's producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. The band's name derives from the Anthony Burgess novel, A Clockwork Orange, in which Droog is the Nadsat word for "friend."
Biography
[edit]Droogie was concieved by Xygni in early 2008 as an outlet for his own private writings in both music and poetry. The music he recorded sat on a shelf until, in October 2008, the band finally came to fruition on the heels of Xygni's long-time girlfriend leaving. He then began on the band's first album, Cognitive Dissonance, set to release on February 3rd, 2009. The first single from the album, Control, is to be released for free on Xygni's YouTube page on December 3rd, 2008.[1]
