Ciarán Anthony DellaFera, BSG, M.D. is a Gregorian friar, a graduate of MIT (Class of 1984), a former IBM Distinguished Engineer, former member of the IBM Academy of Technology, and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School (Class of 2012). Ciarán is currently a family medicine resident in the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center and Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Ciarán did his post-baccalaureate premedical studies at Harvard, and worked as a Clinical Assistant in the Emergency Department at Mt. Auburn Hospital. Ciarán worships at The Church of The Advent in Boston and lives in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the first part of his career Ciarán worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as a Visiting Research Scientist at MIT Project Athena, worked on the X Window System (now the foundation window system for both Linux and Mac OS X), and was the inventor of the Zephyr Notification Service and Zephyr (protocol).
