1255 First Bavarian Partition Following the first Bavarian partition between the sons of Otto II, Duke of Bavaria, the duchy was split into the Duchy of Lower Bavaria and the Duchy of Upper Bavaria including Electoral Palatinate.
1310 The Duchy of Upper Bavaria was split into Bayern-München-Burglengenfeld and Bayern-Ingolstadt-Amberg.
