I would rather talk with an intelligent and reasonable person that I disagree with, than a dogmatic person that agrees with me. Heck, I'm not even sure if I agree with me.
I'm very committed to the concept of NPOV, and not using Wikipedia as a place to argue about ideas. However it's useful to know what areas of interest a user has. See my comments on this: POV on user pages.
Straight but not narrow - well, this is POV and it might offend those who believe homosexuality is sinful. However, I do consider this an important issue of tolerance and plurality. Tolerance meaning we put up with people we don't agree with (so if you disagree with me, then at least be respectful), and plurality in the sense that it's a good thing that we're all different. Actually, as a heterosexual male, I wish more men were gay, as it would change the straight male/straight woman ratio in my favor...
I'm flexitarian: pretty much always vegetarian, but if there's leftovers which would otherwise be thrown out or if I'm really, really stuck I'll make an exception. This is mainly for animal rights reasons - nothing to do with personal purity. There's also environmental reasons and health reasons - but for me these are reasons to eat little meat, not to abstain.
I would consider starting to eat meat again if the animals were treated humanely (e.g. organic farming; definitely not factory farms). Sometimes I get cravings for meat - but I find that when I do yoga and avoid stress, I have less interest in meat and sweet foods.
