Chris Houston (Born 12th April 1992) is a local radio presenter in the Ayrshire area and is noted for such radio stations Ayr FM, Girvan Fm, Brick FM and most notably UWS Radio.
Radio Stations
[edit]- UWS (Formally UCA) Radio
Chris has been a presenter on UWS Radio since June 2008 after a by chance opportunity to guest host on the station for 3 months during the summer. After the bosses of the station were impressed with his performance on air, they decided to keep him as a regular host. He still presents this show on a Wednesday nearly 6 years later.
- Ayr FM
Ayr FM was a 28 day RSL community radio station based in the town of Ayr. It's purpose was to raise health awareness, provide job opportunity's for the unemployed and to also took a focus on the station's presenters and volunteers to give them unique skills in presenting and technical skills. Chris was noted as one of the boss' of Ayr FM. Chris was also a radio presenter who presented a primetime radio show.
Break from Radio
[edit]In March 2011, it was reported that Chris was to take time from radio to focus on his university course that he was due to start later that year. Chris presented his last show on UWS Radio on the 11th of July 2011. He was quoted as saying, "After 3 fantastic years in the radio industry, I will look forward to taking some time out to work on other projects including my degree. No need to worry, once I am settled I will be back and bigger than ever. After all, studying makes me eat a lot."
Chris returned to the station on the 20th of February 2013 and brought back his show every Wednesday.
