User:Chris is me/WikiSocial userbox solution
This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
Some people hate userboxes. Some people like them. A main argument against userboxes is that they waste time from Wikipedia's goal: building an encyclopedia. So, in order for people to continue making userboxes, they can do so in a non-Wikipedia project, so that no encyclopedia resources are wasted!
But what project exists for Wiki users to make profile-like userpages? For a while.. none. Now with the introduction of WikiSocial, Wikipedia users have a nice place to customize their user page into oblivion, with no restrictions (yet) as to what goes on it or its subpages (well.. provided you follow the GNU FDL and the restrictions of Google AdSense). If you want to use userboxes without worry of deletion or POV-showing or anything, then hop on over!
