MetroTwit is a desktop application for Twitter designed for Microsoft Windows, by taking advantage of the latest Microsoft .NET 4.0 and Windows Presentation Foundation 4 frameworks.
Currently, MetroTwit is in a beta stage.
Developers
[edit]MetroTwit is being developed by australian developer team Pixel Tucker Pty Ltd., an endeavour by Long Zheng, David Golden and Winston Pang.
User interface
[edit]MetroTwits draws inspiration from Microsoft's Metro design language, celebrating an elegant and clean user interface that's beautiful to look at and a pleasure to read.
Users can choose themes and accents to personalize the design, as well as splitting the program into columns that can show different things, for instance tweets from friends, mentions, etc.

[edit]Currently, MetroTwit v 0.8.0.2 supports the following features:
- URL shortening, which can be done on-the-fly. Currently, URL shortening services supported are: bit.ly, j.mp, Google, is.gd, karmacracy, shrtn.co and tinyurl.
- Windows 7 taskbar integration
- Quick-glance notifications: read excerpts from new tweet updates as they cycle through in the notifications.
- Resizable and reorderable columns
- Autocomplete for usernames & hashtags.
- Infinite scrolling
- Real-time tweeting: since v0.8.0.0, MetroTwit support for Twitter's Streaming API.
- Flawless high DPI support.
- TwitLonger support
Future releases will also include support for multiple Twitter accounts.
