User:Choigina
Hello, my user name is Choigina which is opposite version of my name, so my real name is Gina Choi. Anyway, thank you for visiting my page. At first, I want to introduce myself a little bit. I am quite a new person in the USA because I came here 6 months ago, and I took ESL classes at Everett Community College during two quarters. Then, now I'm taking English 101 (I'm really excited about how to use this information system which is here, in Wikipedia), Chemistry, and Philosophy. Still, I'm exciting and a little bit nervous about classes, but I will do my best even for a small matter. Of course, I'm interested in learning English. Not only English but I'm interested in art, such as drawing and painting, play the Clarinet and Piano, cooking and baking. On the other hand, I don't like cleaning things like washing the dishes. That is why I'm not really cooking. Since I like to help people, I want to be a nurse especially pediatric or a maternity unit. I want to graduate this school well by working and studying hard. Also, I want to build good relationships with people.
Basically, most of English teacher tell to students, 'Do not use the Wikipedia'. I think one of the reasons why teachers don't want to use this site is people can edit information, so the content is can be true or false. By the way, my English teacher highly recommends this page and encourage to sign in to Wikipedia. For me, it is really interesting. I was surprised about I can edit the contents as well. In Wikipedia, there are so many resources that I can get new information. Still, I am not sure about in this site yet. Whatever, I am looking forward to learning English during this Fall quarter with Wikipedia.

Article Evaluation
[edit]On last Sunday, I could participate in the bible museum was in my church, and I was surprised that I can touch the bibles which were published 500 years ago. Suddenly, I realized Korea, in the Joseon dynasty people made metal type print. However, it is not just metal type print, its name is Jikji, the oldest metal type print ever found. I visited the Jikji page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: dead link, uncleanness sentence with citation, and structure.
Dead Link
[edit]I’ve found in the 'Controversy’ part, there is one link that is dead which is introducing ‘Richard Pennington’. I am wondering who ‘Richard Pennington’ is, so I keep searching him and found the new link of him, but the link is the same name but a different person in wikipedia. After keep searching Richard Pennington and I finally found real person. Richard Pennington, American living in Seoul, is leading a campaign calling for France to return “Jikji,” the oldest existing metal-plate-printed book, to Korea.[1] Therefore, it is necessary to find and insert the existing link or delete it.
Uncleanness Sentence with Citation
[edit]On this page, someone wrote a paragraph described Jikji in subjective and unclear expressions; such as 'The difference of the thickness of ink color shown on drawn letter paper is large, and spots often occur'. Sentences like that make the page worse. Already a person asked that paragraph clarification needed. Plus, I looked up the citation’s link which is used for Jikji article, Lee, Kyong-hee. "Joseon Royal Books Return Home after 145 Years in France." The JoongAng Ilbo. koreana.or.kr, but the thing is Jikji is still in France not in Korea also this site I cannot access the article directly, so I feel it can be an advertisement for that article site. Not only this reference link but there are not many citations and references. This page should be more citations and references. Therefore, sentences in the 'printing' section are not accurate, and the references also not clear.
Structure
[edit]I’ve looked up the page, and at first this page has a good structure because there is an introduction which is explained shortly well about Jikji, and there also have good subtitles such as jikji’s author, contents of jikji, the appearance of printing, the national library of France, which is Jikji's storage location now, rediscovery and controversy. If the jikji’s 'rediscovery' part goes in front of the printing section, then it is going to be better. Because after knowing about how Jikji can rediscover then we can understand easily why the 'National Library of France' and the 'Controversy' coming up.
Conclusion
[edit]In conclusion, since last Sunday I was curious about the metal print, and I realized Korea made the first metal print in the world. After I read this page and I would say as “not bad”. Because of several things such as, including the dead link, not enough references, citations. Plus, uncleanness sentences. Also, Jikji is from Korea, but there are many stories for including France, so it can make readers confused. For this part, this page needs to be clear. However, there are good aspects, too. This page can tell me what is jikji, how Jikji looks like, and a lot of good information such as Controversy and rediscovery.
