Joey Grillo (b. 1965) is an entertainer, singer, songwriter, and drummer based in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is the owner of Wall of Sound Studios.
Born and raised in Southern California, Grillo has played drums since the age of ten.[1] In the 1980s through 1990s, he progressed from performing along Hollywood's Sunset Strip to being a lead vocalist in several touring bands. This led to being recognized by Rolling Stone Magazine with a feature story in their March 1999 issue, radio interviews, and newspaper write-ups.
Grillo performed in 2005 as Roger Daltrey in the musical rock opera “Quad”, a tribute to The Who produced by Bill Aucoin.[2]
In 2008, Grillo opened his first Wall of Sound Studios in Southern California offering rehearsal and recording services. It was followed a second Wall of Sound Studios location in Las Vegas in 2013.[3] and a third location in 2021 in Daytona Beach.
Grillo's Las Vegas performance background includes productions on the Las Vegas Strip, a residency at Station Casinos with Southern Rock tribute band Rebel Soul, charity fundraisers, and private and major corporate events for Photoshop, Discovery Channel’s Velocity Live, and SEMA.[1]
As of 2023, Grillo operates Wall of Sound Studios Florida as the sole location while continuing to write, record, and tour as a solo artist, as well as with several bands as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. These bands include Rebel Soul, The Who Revue,[4] Tom Petty tribute band Petty USA,[5] and 1980s metal tribute band Metal Daze.
