[edit]All About Me
[edit]Hello visitors, my name is Erik! I have many hobbies that are related or unrelated to Wikipedia. I'm an avid swimmer and I swim competitively for my high school and a club team. While I'm not very good at it, I do enjoy the sport and all the memories it's brought me. I also casually lift for my own enjoyment and for the benefits it brings. Especially since I swim, the improved posture, muscle strength, and decreased risk of injury helps out immensely. [1] Music plays a key role in my life as much as everything else. I don't play any instruments, but I listen to music very often. You'll almost never see me without some form of music playing. I also like to think that I have a good sense of fashion and can dress quite well. I'll often go out to thrift stores to find my next best look.
Wikipedia Interests
[edit]If I continue to be active on Wikipedia, you'll most likely see me around any fitness related articles. I enjoy keeping myself up to date on the fitness world and educating those that need help with it. You might also see me active on the pages of the bands I enjoy listening to. I want to make a difference for those that share the same interests as, like many other people here. Hopefully my future efforts will be helpful in making that difference.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I’m quite interested in all things music. While I don’t play any instruments, I listen to music constantly. Lately, while browsing Wikipedia, I noticed one of my favourite bands, "Origami Angel", and knew I had to check them out. I visited their article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: the amount of citations, the age and retrieval dates of the citations, and the structuring of the article.
Citations
[edit]First, I want to touch on this article's citations. There’s nine of them altogether, which is quite surprising for such a small band. None of the links are dead which is a great start. All of the sources are also unbiased which is even better. I can’t speak for the validity of all the sources, but some of them, like Bandcamp and Pitchfork, can be trusted.
Age/Retrieval of Citations
[edit]While the article's citations are well made, some things about them worry me. Six of the nine sources were all retrieved on the same day. The last three were also retrieved on the same day, but about one year later. This tells me that the article might not have had a lot of effort or research put into it since all the information had been collected on the same days. This could be false, but it’s still worrying. Besides that, the information seems to be up to date and valid.
Structure
[edit]Lastly, the structure of the article. It’s set up well, is quite organized, and is written in chronological order. Though the article seems to miss some important information. Two major EPs are missing, being, “Origami Angel Broke Minecraft”, and “Holy Split”. Both of these are important to the band as a whole, with their own history behind them, so having them missing from their Wikipedia is unfortunate.
Summary
[edit]Altogether, the article is well structured, with proper and somewhat reliable citations. There’s no irrelevant information, but there is a lack of important information. The citations retrieval dates are slightly worrying, but I’m not the best judge on collecting information. Reliable sources are there so it has some validity. Overall, I would rate the article as, “good”
