Constance White is an American fashion journalist and style expert.

She is the author of "StyleNoir" published by Putnam Perigee. White was a style reporter for The New York Times where she critiqued shows and wrote the "Patterns" column from 1995-1999. She left to become the founding fashion editor for Talk magazine, the Tina Brown venture which closed.

From 2011-2013, White was editor in chief of Essence magazine. In this role she oversaw the production of the magazine's first book on Michelle Obama. It was published by Time Books. Founded in 1970, Essence is the leading magazine for African-American women.

White was twice named by The New York Daily News as one of the "50 Most Influential" People in Fashion.

White began her fashion journalism career working for WWD (Women's Wear Daily). Before going to The NY Times, she was executive fashion editor of Elle.

From 2003-2010, White was the style director and fashion spokesperson for eBay.

Magazines and television programs to which she has contributed include The Chicago Tribune, Glamour and The Today Show.
