Bio
[edit]About me
[edit]I'm a high school and college student from the pacific northwest. I work in a small Hawaiian restaurant. my interests include volleyball, track and field, videogames, Legos, and Marvel. currently my Lego collection is not incredibly big, but it's worth is in the 400-500 dollar range, with some of my favorites being the Marvel Spiderman mask, Marvel Endgame final battle, Botanical Collection Bonsai tree, and Ideas Tales of the space age. The Lego bonsai tree is my favorite because of one unique property, it has 101 frogs[1] included in the set, 100 of which are in a light purple color and the last one being reddish-brown.
My Wikipedia activities
[edit]I started using Wikipedia for an English class, making an account and writing this was part of an assignment, so I don't think I will continue using Wikipedia afterwards but if I do, I think I would use it as a way to continue to talk about my interests as I did before with Legos.
Article evaluation
[edit]LEGO is one of my biggest hobbies, I've always been interested in the LEGO Architecture builds, so I chose to evaluate this article. I want this article to continue to be updated and not forgotten, that's why I visited the LEGO Architecture article on Wikipedia and found three aspects worth commenting on: the mass dead links, the irrelevant sections, and the lack of updates.
Dead links
[edit]Multiple of the citation links are dead, one such link is the second link in the article, which is labeled as a dead link, but it's never been changed to cite a different source or been deleted. there are also plenty of dead links that use the wayback machine so that they can still be cited.
Irrelevant sections
[edit]In the LEGO Architecture Wikipedia article there is a couple sections that I feel are unneeded. starting with the words in the "Architecture sets" section, I feel like they are just needless and other facts could be put in that place, I do however like that it talks about the canceled set, Eames House. another section that feels redundant is the "In popular media" section because it talks about one niche reference from the popular manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Lack of updates
[edit]This article is not updated frequently and when there are updates, they are extremely small like spelling mistakes. There were 3 months so far this year with no updates. So far there have been eight updates in 2024 and only two were adding information. I think this article deserves to be updated more, and for the updates to be of higher quality.
Conclusion
[edit]Overall, I think the article was poorly taken care of. I think that it has a good base, but it's difficult to go look at the sources that were used. I also think it's difficult to skim through to find information. With how little the article is updated I fear that some information may be outdated.
