Federation of the Congregations in Lebanon (also known as Congregations Family or Akhawiyat) is a Catholic Maronite Christian Organization from Lebanon directly related to the Assembly for Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon (APECL). The organisation has more than one hundred thousand members all over the world 70,000 of them are resident in Lebanon. Members learn the Catechism of the Catholic Church and learn to be witnesses to Jesus Christ in their words and actions, like Mary Mother of God.
Divisions
[edit]The Congregations in Lebanon are divided into four main sections:
- Knight of the Virgin Mary known also as "foursan".[1]
- Vanguards of the Virgin Mary known also as "talaih".[1]
- Youth of the Virgin Mary known also as "chabiba".[2]
- Adults known also as akhawiyat oum.[3]
