One of the greatest threat to the integrity of the encyclopedia is "edit for pay". Wikipedia is so highly regarded up unto the point that when an individual applies for a verified blue check on other websites such as Twitter, a possession of a Wikipedia article in itself means the individual is automatically notable and are granted a blue check verification symbol. That is how highly respected this collaborative project is. The one thing that could utterly destroy this reputation is undisclosed paid editing, it is a hydra headed problem as most individuals who engage in UPE almost always engage in sockpuppetry, just in case an article they have created is sent to AFD they can use their other accounts to influence the outcome of the AFD. It is quite prevalent amongst new editors but even more dangerous than new editors engaging in upe and sockpuppetry are very experienced subtle editors who although contribute very positively to the growth of the encyclopedia at the same time perpetuate this crime in a very subtle manner. They are by far the most dangerous set of editors as they are very much knowledgeable about policies and know techniques on how to evade detection, hence making detecting them almost a mission impossible.
UPE is very much cancerous and requires more hands on deck than there currently is, If this isn't nipped in the bud we might someday lose our stellar reputation & become an indiscriminate collection of any and all articles. If an editor possessing at least two of the aforementioned rights is observed regularly creating articles on "Entrepreneurs" "Businessmen" & "Organizations" it may be a good idea for the community to scrutinize their editing pattern very closely and upon detecting signs of UPE, block such editors first then ask questions later.
