Young Adult Therapeutic Transition Program, a program[1][2] geared toward older teens and young adults who have transitioned from primary treatment, wilderness or other therapeutic programs and want to build on the experience to strengthen their commitment to change and /or sobriety as they transition to self-directed, independent living. They may be finishing high school, receiving vocational trainng or attending college.
Alternate names for this type of program include Young Adult Program, Young Adult Transition Program and Gap Year program. Many of these Programs use the therapeutic community model as a component of their treatment. Programs may specialize in treatments for substance abuse, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome, learning disabilities, depression, bipolar, anxiety, PTSD, etc.[3] [4] [5]
