Critiques of "Community Development" article and notes. (Weeks 1 through 2)

Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? Not all of them. See my notes on citations.

Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?

Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?

Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?

Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?

Check a few citations. Do the links work? Is there any close paraphrasing or plagiarism in the article? Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added? This quote: "a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes participative democracy, sustainable development, rights, economic opportunity, equality and social justice, through the organisation, education and empowerment of people within their communities, whether these be of locality, identity or interest, in urban and rural settings" is missing a footnote.

I think the following quote might be plagiarized from [1] and needs to be referenced properly: "Since the nineteen sixties and seventies through the various anti poverty programmes in both developed and developing countries, community development practitioners have been influenced by structural analyses as to the causes of disadvantage and poverty i.e. inequalities in the distribution of wealth, income, land, etc. and especially political power and the need to mobilise people power to affect social change"

"Neighborhood Watch" article that I will be reviewing and editing (Weeks 3 through 4)

What I'd like to add: This article is very brief. I would like to add some more history to the article, showing how the Neighborhood Watch has changed over the years in the U.S. I also feel that the article is lacking balance and isn't neutral. The bulk of the article is about the controversies surrounding Neighborhood Watched in the U.S--most notably the recent shooting of Trayvon Martin. However, to make this article more neutral and balanced I want to add some information about what Neighborhood watches have achieved, instead of only discussing what they have done wrong. There have been documented cases where neighborhood watch has successfully prevented crimes from happening.Cbwatson (talk) 20:08, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
