Catherine Makau is a self driven lady with great love for sports, athletics to be specific. Starting at the age of 12 years, she has actively participated in athletics, representing her country(Kenya) internationally. With great motivation an support from her partner and husband, Patrick Makau, she has actively through sports empowered young women and girls, engaging them in guidance and hence creating employment among the youth.

In July, 2021, Catherine Makau was recognized for the ICHANGE NATIONS SPORTS DIPLOMACY AWARD, as a Generation Leader with great influence in the sports avenue.
