In 2009, Tarr began wrestling a full schedule getting in the best ring shape of his life and started to make some noise on the southeast independent circuit, tagging with long-time friend, Aden Chambers. Other notable feuds: Christian York, Kimo, Aden Chambers, and Phill Shatter. In January 2011, Tarr was contacted by Taz to take part in Taz's inaugural class of the Team Taz Dojo.
