[edit]I come from a family with combined passion for hunting and spending time outside in the beautiful nature that surrounds us. This has always been an important part of my life and was also one of my biggest concerns when I started to study. I didn’t want lose the ability to spend time outside with like-minded people. Luckily I found BI Outdoor and the committee has ever since been an important of my life as a student at BI. Great fun, great people and amazing experiences. My favorite outdoor activities are climbing, free skiing, hunting, hiking and surfing. I am always interested in trying out new things and I am looking forward to introducing Norways nature to the rest our members.
Jan Klauer - Vice President
[edit]I`m raised in a family that loves to be outside. Since I have been a little child I have learned to love the nature and the opportunities that it gives us. Since my father is a sled-dog guide, I have lived together with huskies my whole life. The thing that fascinates me most with the nature is that it gives us a peaceful and relaxing feeling. The nature has a power…. a power not human can fight agents, only live with it . My favorite activities are hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, sailing and sled-dog.

[edit]I moved to Norway from Sweden in 2010, and it did not took long until I was in love in the marvelous country. I have always had a strong and closed tie to the nature. During my spare time I like to be in the stable and horseback ride. I am looking forward to discover more of Norway push my limits and have some action together with other like-minded people! Let’s get ready!
Sine Astad - Head of activities
[edit]I am studying business and economics 4th year with a major in strategy. In addition I am taking courses at Hioa this year. I love to be in the nature mostly in the forest camping, fishing or doing "orienting". My favorite Outdoor trip so far has been the canoe trip, and I hope to be able to arrange it this semester!
I have huge plans for the activities and you can expect a high variety of trips within the categories Oslo nature, famous Norwegian places, action activities, and untouched nature. In addition to the trips I want to arrange some social events and a weekly common training where we compete against other committees within the student union.
Carl Nyrud Kaas - Head of activities
[edit]Since Outdoor has expanded a lot since last year I got a question from the board in the middle of fall semester if I wanted to help them with the trips. My answer was of course YES! I go in the second year Bachelor business administration. I’m originally from Lofoten and love the nature specially hiking, skiing and fishing as I have been doing it my whole life. I hope I can contribute to Outdoor with my knowledge, experience and good mood.

[edit]Hi! I am a Peruvian girl that is trying to enjoy my international experience at its fullest. For this reason, I find no better opportunity to explore the wonders of the Norwegian nature with an amazing group of people like the one I have found in Outdoor! I really enjoy down-hill skiing and hiking but there are so many Outdoor activities that I am really eager to try out. So, I hope you also want to be part of our next adventure!
Audun Stranden - Head of Business Relations
[edit]Since my childhood I have been interested in outdoor activities, like skiing, sailing, canoeing and hiking in the mountains. As a new student at BI Norwegian Business School I started looking for fellow- students sharing the same interests. About a year ago I joined BI Outdoor and since then I have participated in many exciting tours, including skiing - tour to Hardangervidda and on dog sledding in northern part of Norway. I am looking forward to many new exciting tours with both Norwegian and international students in the coming year.
Vision
[edit]Our vision is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience the Norwegian country first hand. We arrange both shorter trips in the immediate surroundings, and longer excursions to the far away.
Focus
[edit]Outdoor focuses on experiencing the nature and we will provide students with organized trips. This semester we have scheduled six trips: Tryout/opening trip Nordmarka area, canoe Weekend, Bergencity and mountains, Gaustatoppen, Biking Rallarvegen (Haugastøl – Voss/Flåm), and an untouched nature trip to Femunden (hiking).
In addition, one of the objectives of all our activities is that alcohol is not to be the focus, but rather the experience of the nature. Therefore all are trips are alcohol free and all members are told about our policy. Our hope is that our trips will provide a greater range of activities that will bring students closer together and create long lasting friendship. This will hopefully lead to a better study life for students.
International Students
[edit]Moreover, one of the main objectives of BI Outdoor is that we want to include the international students. Especially considering that many of them are here to experience Norway , and would only stay for a short-period. The scenery in Norway is among the finest and through Outdoor international students will have a cheap offer to explore it.
To be able to be an international committee we have decided that all the information that comes from Outdoor will be published in English. Since our focus is to mix Norwegian and international students all our members always get friends from around the world. Since we take in a lot of exchange students we have new members each semester. .
