This is a list of the Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in order of longevity. There are currently nineteen Chairmen on the list and nine living Chairmen. The list is in descending order and is correct as of November 11, 2024. The oldest Chairman is Thomas H. Moorer (1912 - 2004), who died at the age of 91 years, 361 days. The oldest living Chairman is David C. Jones. He is currently 103 years, 125 days old and has held the title of oldest living Chairman since February 5, 2004.

To account for the different number of leap days within the life of each Chairman, two measures of longevity are given. The first is the number of whole years the Chairman lived, and the number of days past their last birthday. The second lists the total number of days lived by the Chairman.
