==In The Bahamas== went to the backroom with several others and began editing the scene. They turned the green screen into tidle waves. It took about 5 hours. Meanwhile Aaliyah was all over the Bahamas shooting pick-up scenes for the video, also used with green screen. Most of those shots were never used in the video but still took lots of hard work. Aaliyah finally got to rest around 8PM after shooting all afternoon. She realized that there was no running water, no room service, and a very small amount of food. This made everyone want to leave earlier than expected.

Late August 23rd and August 24th

Around 2AM after working for about ten hours, Aaliyah had to do an underwater scene that showed Aaliyah in the water floating. The pool was about 20 feet deep. She had to go down to almost 15 feet. She says that, "That was a hard scene but we got some beautiful shots out of it. I always was a kid that liked water, in the pool mind you". They took the shots underwater with waterproof cameras. After almost an hour they started getting her prepared for a new scene. For the next three hours they did make-up. At 6:37 AM (the next day) she began to shoot scenes for the second and first verse of the song with a nice Bahamian dress on and with a yellow top underneath it. They shot scenes all morning and afternoon. Aaliyah finally was able to get some sleep. But they were in a rush to get home back to civilization. Hype Williams himself found himself sleepy. He slept for about 4 hours and then began production. They, later, went to a very small island and started shooting some scenes of Aaliyah dancing on a tree afterwards. She had on a red outfit. They later went to the other side of the island and started shooting some scenes with the same outfit on, but just dancing by herself.

August 25th, The Fatal Day

Around 8AM, the next day, Aaliyah was up and ready to shoot the final scene and leave the Bahamas. Aaliyah put on some white clothes so everyone matched, and they began rehearsing. At 11AM, they began shooting the dance scene all morning and all afternoon. Around 5PM, Aaliyah stated that she was nervous to ride the plane. She called her mother, Diane. Her mom said that maybe she shouldn't go, but Aaliyah said it's really short - its only from the Bahamas to Miami. A friend of hers, stylist Derek Lee, made a last minute retreat that saved his life. He stayed the remaining day, instead of chartering the plane. At 6:44 PM, the plane took off and about 28 seconds later it crashed. People outside the plane said that the plane went down nose first and erupted into a burst of flames. Aaliyah and the seven other members were killed, instantly, from seriously severe burns and a strike to the head. However, one man survived; his name was Anthony Dodd. He died about six hours after the plane had crashed. A day later (August 26th) an investigation took place. It seemed that the investigation proved that the plane was overloaded by several hundred pounds. Also, during an autopsy, the plane pilot was proven to have alcohol and crack-cocaine in his system. His license was suspended just five hours before the crash. About three hours later, he was employed at Blackway Airlines. He was ordered to take Aaliyah and her friends back to Miami. He lacked the skill needed to operate that plane. During their autopsies, Aaliyah's body was surgeried and fixed to a point where it could be viewed. Her body was shipped back to her parents. Then, on August 31st, a funeral was held. 22 white doves - each representing a year in Aaliyah's life were released. Her mother broke down in tears as celebrities like Puff Daddy embraced her. Her body came through in a Cinderella princess casket horse carriage. All of the fans, standing outside, sang a few of her songs - including "One In a Million" and "We Need A Resolution".

After Aaliyah's Death

Every year since Aaliyah died (so far) radio stations play a special tribute to her by playing all her songs for about 3 weeks straight, some vary. In 2002 three more singles were released of the album Aaliyah. "Rock The Boat", "More Than a Woman", "I Care 4 U" and two radio-only singles "I Refuse" and "I Can Be" all moderate hits. In December of 2002 Universal and Blackgrohlund released a compilation album including all of Aaliyah's charting singles. The album also included 6 unreleased songs, a DVD, and a commentary and some interviews that Aaliyah took. Aaliyah Dana Haughton will be missed.
