Bouma is a 2019 Bengali short film directed by Debatma Mandal with Bidita Bag, Rajatava Dutta and Paran Bandopadhyay playing the lead roles.
Plot
[edit]Set in the 1960's Bouma is the story of a lady living with her always complaining, always bickering, and always demanding husband Gobindo in Kolkata. Their tumultuous relationship has remained the same for years, making her almost surrender to the situation. Until the day he realises he is going to die and the mad doctor Pakrashi arrives to take his body away after his death.2 months later, when gobindo has already passed away and his widow goes to see the donated organs of her late husband, things take an unexpected turn. Pakrashi has finally succeded in his research, keeping the brain and the eyes of a dead man alive.
Gobindo can see and process information, but cant talk or react like before. The wife decides to take what is left of her husband home, only to serve him her vengeance on a platter. What she does with her husband’s still-conscious head after death culminates to a climax, which is both funny and dark.
