I am an architectural designer and former adjunct professor of hand drafting. Vitruvius recommends that an architect should be well versed in both theory and practice, and I take this point of view very serious. In practice I am a draftsman, designer, and project manager. In education I teach architectural drawing. In theory I delve into everything that is as far from the practical, sane, and healthy as I possibly can. Most of my research is dedicated to visionary-theoretical architecture (e.g. Etienne-Louis Boullee, Claude Nicholas Ledoux, Jean-Jacques Lequeu, Douglas Darden, et al.), esoterica and occult sciences (e.g. alchemy, Doctor Faustus, Hermeticism, Freemasonry, et cetera), and simply bizarre and strange individuals (e.g. Antonin Artaud, the Marquis de Sade, Hunter S. Thompson, Gilles de Rais, Friedrich Nietzsche, et cetera). The diametrics of my unorthodox studies and my very down-to-earth practice I have always felt keeps the former grounded by the latter, and the latter invigorated by the former.
