Summarize a topic
Summarizing a topic helps people understand what happened in the Topic.
- Summarizing can be done anytime: during the conversation or at the end after a decision is made
- Summarizing will be suggested when you mark a topic as resolved (see below)
- You can put links or templates in the Summary, e.g. {{see also}} or {{tracked}} templates
- All basic editing applies
Resolve a topic
- Resolving a topic, when you mark a topic as resolved, will:
- Hide all answers for that topic
- Add a check mark to the Topic title
- Suggest summarizing the topic
- A resolved topic is identified by a gray font color on the table of contents
- You can expand a resolved Topic by clicking on the Title or on the Summary
- You can re-open a Topic anytime, by clicking the Topic's menu (). You need to reopen a topic to do any administrative actions (hide, delete, suppress)
Customization
If you want to only have a start-a-new-topic page, with nothing else around, action=new-topic
