Paul M. W. Linebarger (Paul Myron Wentworth Linebarger; b. 1881 Warren, Illinois d. Washington, D.C. 20 February 1939) Was an American judge and legal scholar who advised the Chinese government. He was known for his knowledge and publications on China. [1] [2]
Early life and family
[edit]Attended Lake Forest College, then studied in Paris and the University of Heidelberg. He served as a lieutenant in the Illinois cavalry during the Spanish-American War.
Father of /Paul Myron Anthony Linebarger, a China scholar who wrote science-fiction under the pen-name /Cordwainer Smith
