The University of British Columbia Okanagan Library is a part of the library system of the University of British Columbia (UBC). The Library is located on the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus in Kelowna. The Library is split into two buildings that are attached to each other. The northern building “The Commons” contains study places, media labs, engagement theatre, and contains the Okanagan Special Collections.[1] The southern “library” building houses the books and open collections of the Okanagan Library[1] .
In 2014/2015, the library had a recorded 688 thousand visits[2].
Services at the Okanagan Library

The library services include borrow services, remote access, computer, and technology services such as printing and copying, technology borrowing, technology support, light therapy lamps[3]. Other services include facilities such as group & silent study spaces, workshop & presentation room, and disability access. Physical collections such as books and videos can be found on the first floor of the library, also there is a good collection of books on the ground floor. The books can be borrowed by going to the library front desk or using the self-checkout systems which work using the student ids.
The Commons
[edit]The Commons is an addition to the library building initially opened in 2019[4] with the intention of adding a high tech, versatile facility. The Commons adds a 400 seat lecture hall, a digital design lab, a media studio and a cafeteria known as “The Comma”. It also has 33 study rooms, 120 individual study spaces, and 350+ group study spaces[5].
