Book- It's a familiar story: martial artist Billy Moon returns from Vietnam to find that only roller derby can quell the turmoil in his soul. Unfortunately, Billy inadvertently crosses a branch of the mafia that apparently maintains an interest in the fortunes of the derby world (the dreaded Skate Mob perhaps?).[1]

Book Chapter- African elephants belong in the genus Loxodonta and are most commonly grouped in the species L. africana. A smaller species of “forest elephant” has also been proposed, Loxodonta cyclotis. Both are distinct from the Asian elephant, Elephas maximus. These species comprise a minute fraction of the diversity of proboscideans that have existed over the past 60 million years.[2]

Article-

How can we sleep with all these elephants

Around us? Oh Muse, must I placate you

And moonlight on those huge sad humps

Leaves me helpless. Must they stand

At the foot of our bed? My peanuts are gone,

And their trunks are cold[3]

Website- A few years ago, Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, published the results of something called the Great Elephant Census, which counted all the savanna elephants in Africa. What it found rocked the conservation world: In the seven years between 2007 and 2014, Africa's savanna elephant population decreased by about a third and was on track to disappear completely from some African countries in as few as 10 years.[4]
