Comments on editing "Stereotypes about indigenous peoples of North America"

[edit]

The article could certainly be inproved, so I generally appreciate the effort. However, WP editing is unlike general academic writing, as reflected in some of the points made in your sandbox:

  • Placing "Main article" and "Further information" links immediately following section titles is a WP editing guideline generally observed. Rather than being a distraction, it is intended to alert the reader that the section is a summary of the detailed imformation. This "summary style" is intended to constrain the size of each article by placing major subtopics in their own article. Whether a subsection in a main article is an adequate summary of the linked article is alway up for discussion.
  • WP articles are limited by the citation of reliable sources. Providing the additional content that might tie together the sources into a comprehensive whole is original research unless also supported by a specific citation, which is often difficult to find.
