Below are parodies of season two of the anime School Rumble

Ep 1

Tennouji's appearance in the jidaigeki version was a parody of Sachiel in Neon Genesis Evangelion episode 1. The laptops used in the meeting at the end are IBM R32 ThinkPads while the masks that the boys are wearing resembles those worn by the villains in New Police Story.

Ep 2-3

The battle in school, between the play and cafe faction, with BB guns, greatly resembles Battle Royale. Also, there is a parody of Full Metal Jacket Sgt. Hartman's famous jogging song "I don't know what I've been told", humorously adapted to otaku themes (for example, M78 is the nebula where Ultraman came from). The battle between Harima and Hanai (including how Harima reloads his guns) is a parody of the movie Equilibrium.

Ep 4

During the reading of the possible scripts to the culture festival play, the scene with Harima (disguised as Yakumo) and Hanai is an allusion to the Tokimeki Memorial game series. The scene of the ballet practice with Ichijou, Imadori and Mikoto resembles the Glass Mask anime/manga series. The scene with Mai is a reference to the Magical Girl anime genre. The staff she uses resembles the one used by Sakura Kinomoto in Cardcaptor Sakura.

Ep 5

The "Tokihasou" stand in the Tea Club Cafe is a reference of the apartment where Tezuka Osamu lived, Tokiwa-sou. Also, Yakumo is humorously dressed like him in this episode.

Ep 6

The Culture Festival play is a very unfaithful version of the tale "Sleeping Beauty".

Ep 7

The cooking contest between Hanai and Harima reference both the Japanese cooking competition show Iron Chef and the anime "Chuka Ichiban" (which is also named "Cooking Master Boy"), especially the "visions" seen by the judges after tasting the "glowing" food presented by the contestants. The boar that Hanai attacks and the vision with boars wandering in the woods are from famous scenes in the animated movie "Princess Mononoke" made by Hayao Miyazaki. The "drunken master" (See "Drunken Master") that appeared in season 1 episodes 20 and 21 makes a cameo. The Anime studio "Hometto" where Harima take part-time job is actually referring to Studio Kometto, the studio in charge of the animation production of School Rumble.

Ep 9

During Tae's motivation speech she brands a scepter (surrounded by a glowing golden aura) and strikes a pose in an allusion to Saori Kido from the anime "Saint Seiya" (aka "Knights of the Zodiac"). In some of the scenes, the fascination with slam dunk and the "Pass Pass" that Tenma calls out are some of the main traits of the character from the anime version of Slam Dunk (manga), Hanamichi Sakuragi. Lala, placed as Center and given a nickname "Gori", is also a character spoof from the same anime where the center player, Takenori Akagi, is also known as "Gori".

The shoes that Lala stole(and trashed)from Imadori are Air Jordan Vs.

Ep 10

When Tenma is making her pot in pottery class, Karasuma appears in "ghost" form to help her out, very similar to a scene in the movie "Ghost" with Demi Moore. Also, the Joker in the boys' card game is a CG Akira, similar to that of Season 1 episode 17.

Ep 11

The Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX appears in the scene where Hanai nearly gets hit by 3 cars while carrying the "collection" from Nishimoto.

Ep 12

There is a parody of the "dating sim" genre of games, most proeminently Tokimeki Memorial, when Harima wonders how he'll invite Tenma to a date. Also, when Harima tries to enter Itoko's room, the Sneaking song from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty can be heared, and when the traps are activated, the radio starts playing the School Rumble Season 1 ending in slomo.

• -Edit- I think the sneaking song is from the game Biohazard 4.

It looks like the first track called "Infiltration" on disk 2 of the Biohazard 4 Original Soundtrack.

Ep 14

The Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX in the panda colours appears yet again, this time seen in the traffic jam as Harima and Yakumo walks back from the publisher. Also, when Harima explained the manga sequence to Yakumo, he made an implicit reference to the famous Love Hina by Ken Akamatsu (Keitaro Urashima and Naru Narusegawa).

Ep 15

After Yakumo asked the giant chief editor Gotou, 'Is your job to scare new manga artists?', Harima's facial expression is actually a parody of the seminal expressionist painting 'The Scream (Skrik, 1893)' by the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. The second appearance of Gotou at the manga artist supplementary class is a parody of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, when the degrading God Warrior is prematurely unleashed upon the rampaging Ohmu. When Harima goes up the stairs to confess to Tenma, the mood, the way he walks, and his shadow profiling him going into a girl's room is very similar to Count Orlock from Murnau's Nosferatu (Nosferatu was an illegal adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula at the time). After Harima realizes that he's in Yakumo's room, and not in Tenma's, the mood of this scene is the same as The Grudge, like the change of atmosphere and Tenma's movements. Also, throughout the episode, both Tenma and Harima experience Newtype flashes, a common occurrence among Newtypes like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable in Universal Century Gundam series, Rau Le Creuset and Mu La Flaga in the Cosmic Era Gundam series, and various characters in After War Gundam X.

Ep 16

Features a homeless Harima after Tenma chased him off Tsukamoto residence who is offered a night at Suou temple and a depressed Eri who is getting engaged. For the second time in the whole series Harima's blackglasses was (forcefully) taken off for quite a ~long~ period (until the end of eps.17) and for the first time his head band was (forcefully) removed.

Ep 17

This episode features the Japanese celebrity Koriki Chōshū, and parodies his comic appearance in HINOI Team's video clip Night of Fire, dancing Para Para.

Ep 18

In the third section (Christmas Eve section), The background music used when Tougou talks to Yoshidayama's group is the national anthem of the US, 'the Star-Spangled Banner'.

Ep 19

The opening sequence with the fishing boat mimics the film The Perfect Storm (film)

When Harima uses Tenma's huge curry plate as sledge to get his manga published in time, he must dodge many fish that drop out of a truck, which somehow attacked him as if they were missiles. This is called the Itano Circus, a common sequence found in Macross, Eureka 7, Gundam and many other mecha anime series. Also, the author of School Rumble, Jin Kobayashi, appears again as 'sailor F'.

Ep 20

When Karen and her brother Kousuke are cleaning their room, the top drawer they share has two robot heads for handles. One of these heads is the original RX-78-2 Gundam from the series of the same name. Later, the female policewomen uniform the characters are wearing as well as the room design and furniture disposal are very similar to the room audience usually sees in the main police station in Taiho Shichauzo ("You're under arrest!"). Th last seens in the police station bare resemblance to parts of Tron (skin suits and green grid background), Neon Genesis Evangelion (Computer Screens flashing with Tenma's name on them) and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (skin suits and the multiple identical computer operators).

Ep 21

The story of magical Mai-chan is very much like Sailor Moon. The Masked Kamen is a spoof of the Tuxedo Kamen. Iori, Yakumo's cat, looks like Luna with a crescent moon on her forehead. In addition to a Sailor Moon parody, ans as stated before, we can see a strong resemblance in Mai's staff to the winged and final version of Sakura's one in Card Captor Sakura, and Mai's outfit itself can be as well a parody of Card Captor Sakura. Tenma appears dressed as Wonder Woman, and Yakumo is a Tinkerbell spoof. When Tenma transforms into her naive magical girl-ish outfit, it's done the same way as in Cutie Honey. The background scene where little Nara was bullied by little Imadori and little Yoshidayama along with the clothes they wear are similar to the settings in the legendary anime Doraemon. Little Nara appears dresses as Nobita, while little Imadori and little Yoshidayama as Jaian and Suneo. In the basketball parody, the antagonists that are defeated by the "Galactic Bomber" exit the fire with their skin/clothes burning off to reveal robotic bodies. The design of the bodies, as well as the very scene itself is a knock to the original Terminator. The sounds made when the robot joins together is similar to Gundam. The basketball characters are a parody to Mobile Fighter G Gundam, where the girl appears like Rain. The main character does a God/Shining Slam, a parody to God/Shining Finger. The rose guy appears to parody George De Sand. The ending is also a parody to G Gundam. The manga parady stories are written by Jin Kobayashi, who is shown with his editor as the editor rejects the stories.

Ep 22

The episode begins with another Initial D parody. The first car to appears is a Porsche 911 Carrera (997), driven by an unknown character, the second car to appear is a black Nissan Skyline GT-R (with a modified GTR emblem, which reads "GIR"), driven by a character who looks very similar to Takeshi Nakazato of Initial D. The difference between the GT-R in this episode and the one in Initial D is the one in School Rumble is an R-34 while Nakazato's GT-R is an R-32. The third car to appear is a left-hand drive Honda NSX (NA2), driven by Yoko with Itoko in the passenger seat. There is a scene during the race between the Nissan Skyline GT-R and the Honda NSX, where the spectators comment on the race. These spectators are not drawn in the same art style of School Rumble; instead, they're drawn similarly to the artstyle of Initial D: First Stage. Sadly for car enthusiasts, improper engine sounds are used for the cars (The sound for the GT-R's engine sounds more like a V8, such as Nissan's VK45DE, than a true RB26DETT). Hanai also claims to go 3x faster in the kite duel before the string breaks, a reference to Char Aznable's Zaku II moving 3x faster.

Ep 25

Tenma imitates Bonta-kun from Full Metal Panic Fumoffu when Harima shows her his manga script. The book Yakumo finds is written and drawn in the form of the picture book A City With No People in Chobits. The ghost-like figure that approaches Yakumo at the end of the episode is the same one that approached her in the art room in the OVA.
