Akhtar Nawab is an American restaurateur.

Born to Indian parents in Kentucky, Nawab's mother was a nurse and hailed from Lucknow, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, while Nawab's father worked as a cardiovascular surgeon.[1] Nawab spent time cooking with his mother growing up. He attended college, but chose to instead work in the restaurant business, and in 1994 entered the California Culinary Academy (CCA) in San Francisco. During his three years at CCA, he cooked for chefs Loretta Keller (Bizou) and Roland Passot (La Folie). He then moved to New York, where he was a cook at the Gramercy Tavern for a couple years and...[1]
