Audioengine is a American consumer electronics company founded in 2005 by Brady Bargenquast and Dave Evans, based in Austin, Texas. Audioengine is widely known for powered speakers and other audio products and peripherals they develop and manufacture.
Bargenquast and Evans introduced the first product at the 2005 Macworld Show, which was called the Audioengine 5+ Powered Speaker System. The company and product line expanded, adding another smaller desktop speaker called the A2 and a compact subwoofer called the S8 in 2006. Between 2006 and 2019, the company released other powered speakers and related hi-fi products, with a focus on high-resolution wireless audio.
