SimYard is an online baseball simulator created by Erick Robertson. It is based in Chicago, Illinois.
The Park
[edit]The main method of playing SimYard is to play games in the park. It can be used by all free players and those who have purchased stadium permits. Players with stadium permits may own multiple park teams. The park has an infinite amount of pages with four fields on each page. Most players tend to play on pages 6-15, with fields 1-5 reserved for rookie teams so that they don't have to play experienced teams. The ultimate goal of playing in the park is to win the park championship.
Park Rankings
[edit]The Park Rankings only display teams that have played a certain number of games. This number increases as the season progresses. For example, on the first day of the season, you are required only 4 games played for your team to be shown on the Park Rankings page, but on the final day of the season, teams must play at least 81 games to make the rankings. The rank of a team is determined by their winning percentage, strength of schedule (SoS), and opponent quality. Winning percentage is the percent of games played the team has won. SoS is the average winning percentage of the team's opponents. Opponent quality is calculated by multiplying the the winning percentage and SoS of each opponent that the team has beaten. The average opponent quality of the team's top 100 games makes up its opponent quality. For more information, see the Simyard Park Rankings Page
