Hello.
I once found myself as a seventeen year old boy travelling by a european railway-ticket through western europe just to end up in London City, Victoria Station. That was in 1977, the year of Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth. I felt immediatly "at home". The second holiday in 1978 was split. One week in London, one week in Tintagel, Cornwall. This time I felt in love with the English Countryside. After some holidays throughout England and Scotland I read in 1984 in a german newspaper an article about a boattrip on the river Thames. It changed my life. In that year I`ve done the Stourport-Ring twice. And since that time I watched the surprisingly redevelopment of the canalsystem by the help of lots of canal-enthusiasts.
Though I really like the Inland Waterways in England and Wales, I´m responsible for some of the german wikipedia articles relating to the English canals. My last trip was the Warwickshire-Ring in September 2008.
Kind regards
