User:Born2cycle/McStay family disappearance

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The McStay family disappearance took place on or about February 4, 2010, when a family of four vanished abruptly from their home in Fallbrook in San Diego County, California. Nothing has been heard from them since that day and there have been no confirmed sightings. There has been national publicity about the family and multiple tips continue to come in. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the case. At least one book has been written about the disappearance.

Joseph and Summer McStay and their two sons, 4-year-old Gianni and 3-year-old Joseph Jr. nicknamed "Chubba", mysteriously vanished from their Fallbrook home in early February, 2010. Evidence at the home suggests they left suddenly, without planning or packing. A neighbor's security camera was triggered at 7:47 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2010, when what appeared to their family vehicle, a white 1996 Isuzu Trooper, left the neighborhood. Cell phone records show a call of one minute duration at 8:28 pm that same evening, made by Joseph McStay to his business partner, Chase Merritt. The call was made within a one-and-a-half mile radius of a cell tower beside the old Bonsall bridge over the San Luis Rey River.
