OK, let's see...
I've been turning coffee into quality software since 1976 when I starting programming in BASIC on a Control Data Cyber.
I reside in Austin TX, and am currently a Technical Manager/Architect for one of the "big banks" (a result of the small dot-com I worked for being bought). I've published three popular books on web technologies, and am working on the proposal for a fourth.
Having managed to wrestle two Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of Massachusetts, I taught in the Graduate Computer Engineering Program of that esteemed institution for a decade or so. I've also served stints with Digital Equipment Corporation, Lightbridge Inc., Dragon Systems, and a whole slew of other companies no one has ever heard of (or that I'm ashamed to admit association with).
I have also served military time as a platoon leader and infantry trainer, teaching infantry soldiers how to blow up tanks; skills that come in handy in my current job.
When I should be tending to more pressing matters, I like to ride my V-Star, dabble in digital photography and video editing, cook big food, and read voraciously (mostly Sci-Fi and techo-stuff). I'm also nerdy enough to actually write web applications for fun (if not for profit, alas).
I'm hopelessly addicted to caffeine and rationalize it by calling myself a "coffee snob" and buying outrageously priced, but truly tasty, coffee beans that I insist on grinding myself.
