Evony
[edit]Hi Bob, In regards to the 'video documentary' which you stated "Yes, YT isn't an RS, but the video isn't what's being sourced, nor is anything stated as fact." The source is selfpub blog, which then links to YT. That is not at all a RS and the blog is now getting quite a lot of linking within the Evony wikipedia page. The blog in itself is not an RS, and linking a YT from a selfpub blog I believe would be against the rules of wikipedia. I'd like your thoughts.Bgiff (talk) 12:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
"Hiya! You recently made an edit on Evony, in which you added a quote from the game's FAQs about how the marketing campaign was essentially a scam. I was wondering what the URL for this was, so that I could properly source it. That's a bunch! BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 20:12, 6 August 2009 (UTC)"
It's the costume photo page (9) http://blog.costumecraze.com/2009/05/dubious-civony-game-uses-costume-photo. I've put the ref in. And yes, it is pretty funny. Maybe the movie Idiocracy isn't so far fetched after all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aronzak (talk • contribs) 09:27, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Hello Bob, I could do a few screenshots. One at the city level, one at the town level and one at the alliance interaction? Just let me know, we don't mind giving that to Wikipedia, just want to make sure we get what you're asking for. Bgiff (talk) 06:42, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

FredS'mores
[edit]You nominated this article for G3 - it clearly wasn't vandalism at all. It was probably written by one kid who thought he had a great recipe, and decided to share it with the world. Clearly it's not at all notable, so I've deleted it for A7, but vandalism it certainly ain't. While the creator will be peeved that it was deleted 'cause it wasn't notable, it's preferable to being labelled a vandal. Always assume good faith. Cheers :) TalkIslander 01:07, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Tiptoety talk 15:15, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:WordGirl title card.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:WordGirl title card.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:07, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Saint Paul, Minnesota
[edit]The article Saint Paul, Minnesota you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Saint Paul, Minnesota for things which need to be addressed. - Wow, thanks for getting to this review so promptly! I'd like to note that I may have nominated the article a little preemptively and was continuing working on it while it sat in the GA queue, not expecting someone to get to it for at least a month. Well, kudos for proving me wrong. What I'm going to do now is work my way down your itemized list of necessary changes and, ideally, address each one, then put a DONE check next to each. Feel free to contest any that you don't think are actually done; I'll be happy to work on them until they are.
Again, thanks so much for your hard work. I really appreciate it. BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 21:55, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Re: Fringe
[edit]Thanks! It's my current favorite show on television also. One day I was reading the Fringe article and was shocked to see most of the episode articles didn't exist, especially for such a great show!
If you want, you can start some episode articles, like I've been doing. There's so many after all. And if you find any good sources, you could let me know. Sometimes it's hard to find good information about the actual production into particular episodes, so please let me know if you come across any good websites/articles relating to that. :) Thanks again, Ruby2010 talk 02:47, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

- Yeah, it is a little random that I delved into the Fringe articles. I was a history major in college (hence the royal history interest), but love certain television shows too. Bit of an odd mix! I own season 1 on DVD and have been meaning to buy the second season. Maybe I'll start season 1 episodes, since I have their commentaries and behind-the-scenes info. Oh, and I am going to start expanding the plot synopses soon once I rewatch each episode again (I'm hoping for some GA's to help bring Fringe to people's attention). Perhaps you could add more to their plots too? Thanks for the help! Ruby2010 talk 03:14, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit]The Featured Sound Main Page Proposal Voter Barnstar | ||
I was truly humbled by the overwhelming community support for the recent proposal to place featured sounds on the main page. The proposal closed on Tuesday with 57 people in support and only 2 in opposition. It should take a few weeks for everything to get coded and tested, and once that is done the community will be presented with a mock up to assess on aesthetic appeal. Finally, I invite all of you to participate in the featured sounds process itself. Whether you're a performer, an uploader, or just come across a sound file you find top quality, and that meets the featured sound criteria, you can nominate it at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates. Featured sounds is also looking for people to help assess candidates (also at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates.)
Thanks again for such a strong showing of support, and I hope to see you at featured sounds in the future. |

Twin Cities Wiki
[edit]Hi Bobamnertiopsis,
My name is Brian and despite my Wikipedia username, I live in the Twin Cities metro area. I am recruiting a group of co-founders to get a Localwiki started for the Twin Cities. A localwiki is essentially a hyperlocal wiki for a community or group of communities. Some great examples of what we envision are TriangeWiki, DentonWiki, and DavisWiki. The first two are built on the same free software platform we will be using.
We are in the very initial stages and would love to have you help us build the wiki from the start. We will be located at twincitieswiki.org. The software is not up yet, but we have started a blog. Please let me know if you are interested by either posting on here, posting on my talk page, or contacting us via the website.
We very much look forward to any involvement and we are seeking out people to help us plan the wiki, write articles, advertise, fact check, etc. Please let us know your thoughts. Thanks for your time! --NDState 03:27, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Fringe Letters of Transit titlecard.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Fringe Letters of Transit titlecard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:33, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
OTD July 6
[edit]FYI, I took out Dead Women Crossing, Oklahoma. One reason is I don't think it really qualifies for inclusion; the subject matter is unfortunately not really notable enough. But even if it were, I wanted to get Sedan (nuclear test) in for its 50th anniversary, and with 1887 Constitution of the Kingdom of Hawaii in (125th anniversary), that's already two US-related items. DYK for John Gatins
[edit]On 15 January 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article John Gatins, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that John Gatins, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter of Flight, got into scriptwriting when a fellow Vassar graduate offered him $1,000 to pen a screenplay? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/John Gatins. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
