All I can say is that the most incredibly stupid people I've ever met have been "educated" people. A college degree is no guarantee of intelligence or ability. And just because someone is employed in their chosen field it doesn't mean they know anything about it. (Example: George W. Bush)
Sorry I can't cite references for the preceding statement; it's just something I've learned all by myself.
So never be afraid to share what you know, even if you aren't repeating someone else. The worst "they" can do is to censor you, ban you, delete you, berate you, criticize you or ridicule you. Or pompously correct your spelling and syntax and label your knowledge as spam.
